Born and raised in New Jersey, currently residing in Millinocket Maine, Alison Breskin (her nom de plume) is a Licensed Practical Nurse since 2008. She is also co-owner of Shoestring Book Publishing since mid 2012, where she designs books, proofreads, edits and specializes in marketing/SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Self-Publishing books through Amazon for independent authors around the globe.
She is Treasurer and Publications coordinator for a non profit organization called the International Poetry Fellowship, since 2012. Poets publishing poets — a non-profit organization formed to support the publishing of poetry anthologies for its members and winners of contests held by members. We believe wonderful poetry is written by our members every day. We wish to bring this poetry to light.
She has been writing poetry since the age of twelve and has compiled ten Self-Published books since 2011. Two of her books, Birdsongs of Poetry and Birdsongs of Poetry 2 are rough around the edges, and composed of her earlier works.
Her next two books of poetry, Waking Spirit Dreams and Waking Spirit Dreams 2, are mostly composed from more recent works, many of which have been written since 2011.
Her favorite form of poetry is the haiku. Out of these writings she has assembled a book of haiku called Heartwarming haiku. This book holds many haiku and senryu poems she has written along with an educational tutorial in writing haiku and senryu. This includes fun exercises on practicing the art of this little poem.
She has published her first children's book The Habits of Rabbits. The cutest Children's Bunny book ever! Mama Bunny teaches Baby Bunnies a valuable lesson you won't want to miss!
She has written a chapbook of song lyrics called Heartpieces Songbook. These songs were written during a time of heartbreak and used as therapy. She has shared these lyrics of the heart hoping they will perform the same function for others.
She has published an uplifting chapbook of Spiritual Poetry, titled Oranges and Sailboats.
Her first supernatural junior fiction novel, in the anticipated series Violet's Kismet is a story about a teenage girl, who discovers over time she possesses supernatural powers. She learns that she may either accept this inherited supernatural lifestyle gift with the consequences of sacrificing a normal life with her loved ones, or, she can continue to live a normal teenage lifestyle by ignoring her truth. Will Violet sacrifice a normal lifestyle, and leave behind the ones she loves to protect them all from a dangerous kind of evil?
